Rene Eisenbart

March 18-20, 2025

Our path to discovery is intentional play, as we craft unique textural substrates for our watercolor paintings.

Beginning with your textured paper or panel, you’ll paint on the surface with watercolor paint, first drippy, then controlled (or vice versa) to convey your subject.

Cost: GCWS Member $250 | Nonmember $395

In this workshop you will experience how Sue creates and designs her imagery and achieves a “strong” quality of light. You will be introduced to many topics and concepts dealing with design and composition. Your goal should be to decide how these ideas could apply to your painting,
your subject matter, your intent and your style. Elements and principles of design need to be understood; They are not rules, only guidelines. You, as the artist, need to learn how to use them successfully in your work! Learning about design takes a lifetime of study. Let’s get started!

March 19-21 2024

In this workshop students will do exercises that will help them to make their own unique marks as a surprise element for their work.  Students will play with these ideas along with the possibilities that will open as they work transparently and with opaque paint in watercolor and gouache.

What you’ll gain:
This workshop will engage your intuitive creativity. Demos, group discussion and constructive critiques along with painting time are a part of this workshop. You will build upon that mark making process through negative painting, color mixing and design formats.
