Gold Coast Watercolor Society holds general meetings every third Tuesday of each month from October to May. The society also frequently invites guest speakers to provide valuable insights and knowledge about the world of watercolor painting. Our Gathering of Artist, meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of each month during our season, from October thru May. GCWS general meetings are in person with live art demonstrations by carefully selected, incredible watermedia artists. All are welcome to attend.
For our demonstration Stan will show us his intuitive process for creating his paintings. One definition of intuitive includes words like feeling and instinct. These terms are mildly interpretive, and who can argue with artists who “feel” their way through paintings. His definition of intuitive painting is beginning the work without any preliminary thoughts or plans for a particular object or subject as an end, but rather starting on a blank substrate, making marks with a variety of tools, creating a library of design elements and applying design principles until a personal aesthetic is achieved. He does not use any external reference.
